Collector's Editions
Although sold out now, a limited edition package of the movie was made available in Japan containing the following content:
- Two DVD cases - One of the main movie and the other is a bonus disc.
- A short 20 page booklet.
- Reversible covers.
The main movie DVD contains two trailers and a long 36 minute interview with Shinkai. Unfortunately, there is no English subtitles for those of you wondering.
The 20 page booklet talks about the making of the movie and how it all began.
The bonus DVD contains the bonus disc that features:
- The storyboard version of the movie.
- Streaming version of “Oukashou” that shown on Yahoo.
- Special edition PV of the song “One more time, One more chance.”
- Interviews with the cast.
- A photo slideshow of the production process.
There’s also the 11 track OST CD which unfortunately, doesn’t contain the vocal version of the theme song. The full listing of tracks composed by Tenmon is...

- A Station in the Snow
- Kiss

- A Dream

And last but not least, every limited edition box contained a film strip cut from the premiere movie reel which in some cases managed to achieve bid values of US$300.
Please do not confuse this Japanese LE DVD [CW-0102] with the official Taiwanese and Hong Kong Special Edition DVD. Although they both have the same white box packaging, their contents are slightly different i.e. they do not come with the film strip or the OST but postcards instead.
If you are interested in the HK/Taiwanese copies which come with English subtitles, they can be purchased via Play-Asia. Be sure your DVD player can playback Region 3 DVDs though! (Europe is Region 2 and US is Region 1).
